Josh Shelov
JOSH SHELOV is thrilled to be making his feature-film directing debut with THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST, an original, modern-day farce co-written with Michael Jaeger.
Previously, Shelov was the screenwriter of GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS (2005), starring Elijah Wood. GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the 2005 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, TX, and swept both awards at the 2005 Malibu Film Festival as well. As a screenwriter in Hollywood he wrote THE MIRACLE OF ST. ANTHONY for Walden Media, and TEN BEARS for Warner Brothers and director Todd Phillips (THE HANGOVER).
Shelov also co-created, wrote, and directed MAYNE STREET, an original scripted comedy series on ESPN.com starring ESPN’s Kenny Mayne. MAYNE STREET was nominated for a 2009 Emmy Award.
Shelov is the founder of audiencespace, the first crowd-powered movie studio. Audiencespace is a new way that filmmakers and film fans can connect directly and form lasting relationships. audiencespace is currently in private beta, but you can sign up to be one of the first users here.
Shelov is a Professor of Film Studies (Adj.) at Yale University, where he recently completed teaching the residential college seminar STORYTELLING FOR THE SCREEN.
